[JURIST] As the search for bodies entered its 8th day Thursday, a Chilean military prosecutor said the officers commanding 46 teenage soldiers killed in a blizzard during a training march in the Andes face possible charges and prison sentences. According to Colonel Sergio Cea of the International Association for Military Justice [advocacy website], the three officers involved Colonel Roberto Mercado, Colonel Enrique Pineda, and Major Patricia Cereceda have been removed from their posts and are being investigated for manslaughter, mistreatment of subordinates, and failure to fulfill military duties.
