Rabin assassin may request re-trial

[JURIST] Yigal Amir [Wikipedia profile], who was convicted of assassinating former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin [Wikipedia profile] ten years ago this November, may demand a re-trial. According to his wife in an interview on Israeli Army Radio, Amir believes that though he did try to kill Rabin, the fatal shot was fired by a second shooter, and that he was the victim of a conspiracy by Israeli security agents. Commentators predict that Amir has little chance of seeing his appeal granted for his involvement in the killing of the famous Israeli leader who was awarded the 1994 Nobel peace prize [press release] for signing the 1993 Oslo accords with the Palestinians.
